My name is Kevin Munk. In memory of my father, Gordon Munk, who passed away suddenly on December 12, 2012 from heart and stroke related complications, I have decided to make an attempt at setting a land speed record on the Bonneville Salt Flats in his honor to raise funding and awareness for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
The sudden loss of a cherished loved one has a personal impact beyond measure and we all have a choice in how we respond to life's surprises.
My goal is to make the loss of my dad a positive outcome for the greater good of everyone. I hope to raise $1,000,000 in memory of a one-in-a-million dad to be donated to the Heart & Stroke Foundation towards prevention research, educational campaigns and therapy for actual survivors. Furthermore, it is my desire to encourage everyone to take part in the Heart & Stroke Foundation’s Blood Pressure Action Plan and the Healthy Weight Action Plan. They want to help you achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Thank you for your time and your support. May your heart beat as strongly for this fundraising challenge as mine does.
All the best,This year my plan is to return to the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah to compete against the clock and to crack the 200 mph mark!
